HI, first time in the forum...
I've been foloowing GhostBSD for some time now, trying to decide whether to use it to refresh a MacBookAir 2014 I used for business travel. Up until the previous release, I was really tempted, because everything sort of worked with an acceptable level of tweaking. I downloaded the last version, created a boot USB and gave it a try.
To my disappointment, the touchpad didn't work at all 🙁

If this is fixed (or there is a recipe to fix it) I will continue waiting...

BTW, has anyone tried to get wayland+KDE running on a GhostBSD system?

paaguti Try this. Place the following into /usr/local/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/40-libinput.conf:

Section "InputClass"
        Identifier "libinput touchpad catchall"
        MatchDriver "libinput"
        MatchIsTouchpad "on"
        MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
        Option "Tapping" "on"
        #Option "AccelSpeed" "0.2"

Thanks a lot, but how do you get that working in the installation DVD/USB?
I fear that should be part of the installation image, right?

I don't know if this falls into the category of FR. It looks more like a bug to me.
I tried again yesterday with a PC I had lying around and the issue is there too:

I create a boot USB with the image
I boot the PC using it
Result: I have no touchpad. This did not happen in the previous version.

After updating another laptop this morning using the instructions in the first post icewm cores.
I removed and reinstalled but it is still does it.
With my main laptop using amd video drivers updated this morning it runs fine.
The laptop it cores on is using Intel video drivers.
Mate works fine on both except evolution cores on the one icewm cores.

The IceWM maintainer can be reached at portmaster@bsdforge.com, and
the email address for Evolution maintainers is gnome@FreeBSD.org.

You can write them directly for fixes. Once they fix the issues on the FreeBSD side,
the fixes will flow down to GhostBSD during a future ports merge.

Todays update failing on fresh iso install and machines updated with 1st post in this discussion.

If you created a backup of your environment using Update Station, you can revert to the previous boot environment (BE) using Backup Station and restart your system. After rebooting, open Update Station and proceed with the upgrade.

paaguti Reinstall using the GhostBSD 25.01-R14.2p1 ISO file. GhostBSD 24.01 is deprecated.
Once you reinstall, try the following.

Latest release works great for me on an older laptop from 2012, including the Atheros Wifi module that's on it.

Still working out the kinks for a newer laptop that I want to install it on. The Live USB detects the GTX 1050 GPU... loads the driver and attempts to load the desktop... partially freezes. Hopefully I can figure that out soon, more details in another post I started yesterday. vimanuelt has been helpful so far. 🙂

As far as I know, the force in this case was required for the detected downgrade.

Yes, that was correct behavior during the migration from STABLE to RELEASE.

Also, using sudo pkg upgrade -f will reinstall packages; that is expected behavior.
