Brave keeps crashing when signing into a google account.

Any idea of what could cause this?

It's the version from ports.
The version from the linux-browser-installer over on the old forums does the same thing.

When you install it (brave) if you have chromium installed, chromium is removed from the menu.

Software Station shows it's still installed but chromium will not launch from the terminal.

So install linux-chrome, it launches but is just like brave and will not log into a google account.
This is weird to me.

The one chromium based browser that can sign into a google account doesnt launch when there are other chromium browsers installed. Remove brave and linux-chrome boom, chromium launches.
My brain now hurts and I'm confused, lol.
I can just use chromium but chromium doesnt support widevine.

Is there a work around for this? I found instructions for a stand alone widevine but unsure of them beacuse it's Linux and not bsd.

To use Widevine, you have to install www/linux-widevine-cdm from ports.

sudo pkg install ports
cd /usr/ports/www/linux-widevine-cdm
sudo make install clean

We can't distribute linux-widevine-cdm as a package, so you must update it from the port, and you can use portmaster for that.

But any idea as to why chromium wont launch when it's installed along with linux-chrome or linux-brave? I couldnt even get to it start from the terminal?

Or why linux-chrome or linux-brave wont log into a google account?

unklebonehead It is hard to say, for I do not use these browsers. I will speculate that something is conflicting.
