Dynamic CPU speed control

Is there any way to achieve this with GhostBSD? I recall when I briefly tried FreeBSD, there was an option to add something like dynamic CPU speed control, offered as a startup option. Also...can I control the CPU governor just as I can in Linux and Windows?

It would be nice to control this. My newer PC with GhostBSD has a CPU that runs up to 4.1 GHz across six cores, and the older one hits up to 2.2 GHz across two cores. The lowest speed for both is 800 MHz.

man powerd

and

man cpufreq in a terminal...

Check them out, folks. Will also look for a frontend for MATE, if there's one. (I use one in Lubuntu called cpupower-gui.)

I have posted this script elsewhere on the forum. It deprecates powerd for powerd++.
