Hi there,
just wanted to install my HP Laserjet which worked in 10.3 and now in 11.1 ALPHA it provides the checksum error.
Also, I am unable to find any scan software in octopkg, my favoured is simple-scan, but as I said, there seems to be no scan software at all in BSD??
Thanks for any help

Re: HP printer install checksum failed
Hi.
I'm not sure what you mean by checksum error.
Do you mean you get this error when installing the HPLIP package?
For scanners there's xsane which I use for scanning with HPLIP or if your adventurous there's this:
https://github.com/chessgriffin/freebsd ... imple-scan

When I search for my printer thru the HP GUI it will find my network printer and it needs the original drivers and offers to download them, and when it download them it breaks off with the message of a checksum error.

On Linux it just works and it doesn't matter on which distro. How come it worked in 10.3 and not anymore in 11.1?NevilleGoddard wrote:This is a guide for Linux but it should work for you too.

Re: HP printer install checksum failed
When setting up the printer, and hplip finds the printer and it offers to download the files, can you cancel and choose your own ppd file?
Re: HP printer install checksum failed
I could, but for now I changed the HDD, I installed it on an 12 years old laptop, and it is just too old.NevilleGoddard wrote:When setting up the printer, and hplip finds the printer and it offers to download the files, can you cancel and choose your own ppd file?
If I would know how to install ghostBSD for dual or many boot without to destroy my Linux OSes, i would put it on my better (Gaming ) Laptop.
I think for now i have to run it in a Virtual machine and play around until i figured out how to install a safe dual boot.
Re: HP printer install checksum failed
Please open OctoPkgand look if hplip is installed. If not you have to install this package. Than you can go to Cups-manager or local host to install your printer.

than you for your reply and help.
I have a little youtube channel, where i received some help from my subscribers and if that or your idea works, I will post the video here as the solution for that problem and hope it will help many people to use GhostBSD as their daily driver.
