Ya know, this forum needs an "absolute beginner" section. So a beginner can get an answer to a basic question. I am liking Ghostbsd; it works well on the box that I installed it on; but, when I choose some other option at boot time than option number 1, the system freezes. I would simply like to know what the other options are supposed to do: and, perhaps, how to use them. If no one wants to spell it out, surely someone could point me to a reference.

That's it; that's my gripe; other than that, I think Ghostbsd has a lot of promise...

What do you mean about the system freeze? The second option brings you to the single-user mode. It is mostly used for fixing problems and will stop you in a root shell. The only thing is that it does not boot properly, but when it stops booting, then press enter and the shell appears.

For the record, everything that you read does exactly what it says.

1 Boot Multi user - that is the normal boot option
2 Boot Single user - boot directly to the root user mostly use for fixing issues
3 Escape to loader prompt - start to loader console you can change boot options
4 Reboot - is to reboot
5 Cons: * - is for choosing console to boot, Video, Serial
6 Kernel: * is to chose what kernel to boot
7 Boot Options - to change some default boot option
8 Boot Environments - it only works with ZFS, and it is used to boot a system backup.

Basically the only 2 that you might ever use are 2 and 8.
