New installation issues

Post by imush » Sun Feb 23, 2020 12:45 am

I have several small problems with the default ghostbsd 20.01 MATE installation.
  • User switching via lightdm hass glitches. A new user can start a new session but if a session exists you cannot login through the greeter (you can, however, find the correct tty with [alt-]ctrl-Fx).
  • USB mouse sometimes gets lost after switching between consoles
  • Funny things happen when 2 users have graphical sessions. Whenever sudo is required, the system "control center" gui asks for wrong users' password! It is also possible to switch between graphical consoles into another users' session without authorization. Internal security is not a huge concern for my family, but looks like a bug nevertheless.
Otherwise the installation was smooth and simple on my Intel NUC (NUC8i7BEH). Thanks, last time it took me days to configure a FreeBSD desktop.
