did you replace run `nvidia-xconfig`?

Yes I did. Ran the whole string at the same time that you had given. That's when I did a copy of it and posted the results here for you to take a look at and see what went on.

This is what I put into the command lind:

sudo pkg install nvidia-driver nvidia-settings nvidia-xconfig
I didn't do anything other than that except to disable the Intel virtualization in the bios.
