Hello friends,
I'm trying to install GhostBSD.
The computer boots from the disk and I select the install option.
It proceeds to read from the DVD and display the slideshow.
When the progress bar reaches ~75%, it prompts a failure.
Why is this happening?
Installation Failure
Re: Installation Failure
That's always disappointing isn't it...........check the size of the target drive, GhostBSD is pretty big and it sounds like it doesn't finish loading?
I have been able to install recent release to a 8GB usb stick.

Re: Installation Failure
I'm installing it to a 1TB drive.
It seems like it reaches a certain point and then just stops.

Re: Installation Failure
That sounds big enough.......Is GhostBSD the only item on the disk?
If it is, my next step would be to download a fresh iso, check the integrity of the new iso and if clean, install it again.
Otherwise, there is no reason for the result you get.

Re: Installation Failure
I intend for it to be.
It might have some files left over from a previous operating system, but I'm not trying to keep those.
All right, maybe it was the DVD I put it on...

Re: Installation Failure
.....thinking about it, there is a point where there is a long delay which suggests a failure but after a time it carries on.....perhaps you need to allow it more time.
Re: Installation Failure
I'm sorry I didn't get back to this.
I figured out what the problem after attempting to install another OS
The hard drive was bad despite being "new."

Re: Installation Failure
One way to produce failure is to try installing on multiple disks in striped mode (Raid-0 analogue). Result is always non-bootable. Other Raidz modes seem to work.
