Folks,
New to BSD but long time Linux user.
Currently trying out the live image, would like to install but when it came to the disk management part I was unable to identify my various partitions so abandoned the exercise
I would like to install to an external drive that has a couple of Linux distros on it but unsure of the BSD disk numbering system.
Any advice as to how to identify suitable location would be appreciated.

Re: Identifying Existing OSs
With trepidation I installed to an external drive, fingers crossed that my laptop system wasn't going to be wiped, especially when I saw the installer reference my main drive. Nearly cancelled.
Well, all installed on an external drive but I cannot boot, I'll ask under a different subject so this thread is resolved.
