Howdy
I'm 100% new to GBSD.
I installed it via USB-Stick. That went fine.
I reached the Desktop and GBSD needed updates.
So I started the updates.
After the update finished, I rebooted the system and got: "Boot Device not found".
- BIOS can see the SSD
- Boot Menue can see SSD
- When plugging in the USB-Stick again to restart install, System can boot from USB and Install procedure is starting
- when installing Linux OS (Pop!os, Ubuntu, Fedora) it works after reboot.
So, this tells me that there is no issue with the BIOS not seeing the SSD, or SSD problem at all.
I mean, it can't/should not be so hard to install GBSD right?
But most of the time it's the dumb User not getting it how to process a task <--- ME
Thanks for any hint.
BootDevice Not Found after Updating
Re: BootDevice Not Found after Updating
Dear friend,
the os has defined the flash drive for any reasons in the system.
take a CD ROM instead for installing should avoid such problem i think.

Re: BootDevice Not Found after Updating
hello again,
its a writeable media. don't know exactly "what" data is defined but to take a "read only CD ROM" is the savest way to choose.
fact is , there is something.
with CD you can avoid that.
thank you and have a nice day
