CD/DVD INSTALLATION

Post by macondo »

My other distro of choice is Devuan.

The installation I use is "netinstall". The cd is 227MB.
After installing the base core packages comes the rest of the software.

You can choose DEs or nothing.

KDE
Gnome
MATE
LXDE
Or choose none, reboot and update/upgrade and start installing xorg, wm, etc

So, you can install a desktop environment of your choice, or reboot and install the window manager of your choice; all for <300 MB.

I thought this is something to think about...
Later,
Desktop Celeron with 4 gigs RAM - icewm/jwm/ratpoison - FreeBSD 11.1/GhostBSD 11.1

Indeed, this something we already considered sometimes ago (a single DVD w/multiple DEs), but there is to say that one point of GhostBSD is about providing a "live" session, (without install) and that is tied to a specific DE.

It is not impossible, of course, the problem is we are already short of manpower. ;)
