I was concerned about talk regarding changes made to trueos/freebsd that would affect the video on older PCs in future upgrades. I have tried Trident but ran into trouble with every, almost weekly, update. The 'no video' problem can be sorted but it takes a bit of work and even then you have a only a 'half-baked' os!
Naturally I was concerned when I tried GhostBSD13. RC1 so I installed on a USB to see the result.............the installer introduced a page which allowed you to select a choice of video ?drivers............on my older machine I selected vesa and everything went well and the installation is OK and the video works.
Video concerns on BSD upgrades
Re: Video concerns on BSD upgrades
I have now installed 19.04 -RC3.iso.........it installed easily, I chose the vesa selection when asked and GhostBSD is up and running!
...........Network Manager responded immediately and I have wifi.
I'm looking for a fault but can't find anything to complain about.

Re: Video concerns on BSD upgrades
....found a complaint! I can't find GParted.......not installed and I can't find as new software.
Re: Video concerns on BSD upgrades
GParted is a GNU/Linux software not a BSD software.
Re: Video concerns on BSD upgrades
......now I have nothing to grumble about!
