Weird (at least to me) issue with BT pairing.

Post by kansuke »

Hi everyone, I am a complete noob at using FreeBSD/GhostBSD. I am however very experienced using Windows and OSX so following clear directions should not be hard. I just installed GhostBSD on a Dell T7910, I have everything working except I cannot pair a Jabra headset (Jabra Evolve 65). Here's the output of hccontrol:

hccontrol -n ubt0hci inquiry
Inquiry result, num_responses=1
Inquiry result #0
BD_ADDR: Jabra_EVOLVE_65
Page Scan Rep. Mode: 0x1
Page Scan Period Mode: 0x2
Page Scan Mode: 00
Class: 24:04:04
Clock offset: 0x503
I have tried pairing it with and without a PIN but it doesn't make any difference; I also have a BOOM speaker which is found and looks like it's paired but nothing happens. Is there a panel or something where I can specify what BT devices to use for sound?

Once it is paired you will have to change your system sound to use it.

What is the output of cat /dev/sndstat and dmesg?

Hi ericbsd, thanks for replying. here's the output from those commands:

I believe this: ugen0.4: <vendor 0x0a12 CSR8510 A10> at usbus0 here is my BT dongle.

And this is what I get:

hccontrol -n ubt0hci create_connection 70:bf:92:13:72:1a
BD_ADDR: Jabra
Connection handle: 72
Encryption mode: Disabled [0]
# hccontrol -n ubt0hci read_connection_list
Remote BD_ADDR Handle Type Mode Role Encrypt Pending Queue State
Jabra 72 ACL 0 MAST NONE 0 0 OPEN

So, I can see that it communicates with the headset but the headset keeps blinking as if it's still trying to connect or pair. I know in Windows 10 you pair and then connect, the connection part is what I can't figure out here.
