My laptop has Intel HD Graphics 630 and nVidia GP107M [GeForce GTX 1050 Mobile], that's also Optimus technology. I am currently using Intel. I tried to run the graphics on nVidia, all attempts were unsuccessful. Now that I found the nvidia-optimus-driver, I tried to install it - unfortunately, it would have been tragic.

Code: Select all

[1/1] Installing nvidia-optimus-driver-430.34...
pkg: nvidia-optimus-driver-430.34 conflicts with mesa-libs-20.2.3 (installs files into the same place).
Problematic file: /usr/local/lib/libGLESv1_CM.so
It would be out of the question to remove mesa-libs. Half the system would crash.
Is there a chance that nVidia will work, even from an official repo?

I joined the discussion on nvidia optimus so as not to start a new topic and looking for help. Since I have an nvidia graphics card, why burden the system with an integrated intel. However, I can see that this is a more serious problem because on https://forums.freebsd.org/threads/nvid ... ost-454792 a few months ago the discussion ended and https: //github.com/pouya-eghbali/freebsd-nvidia-optimus is deprecated, and I don't know how https://reviews.freebsd.org/D22521 could work, and will it work at all? Are the graphics on BSD only dedicated cards from Intel, nVidia, AMD - although I can see here that people have problems with graphics.
I chose GhostBSD because I liked the system and the direct contact with the developers, even though I had FreeBSD before and Arch Linux for 20 years. Much still needs to be improved, we can do it together so that our system is authentic for the family, because that's what the GhostBSD creator is about.

Thank you. No success fooling with drivers. I'm going to check the linux forums as I do see overheating as a subject in the linuxquestions site. Thank you for trying..
