Currently I use Mate, i3 and MacOS desktop. Mate replace Gnome for my every day use, i3 is for when need to focus only on coding. Since I have made the new theme of LXDE I might use it often.

Openbox because it is the "designer" WM for LXDE, my favourite desktop. My second favourite would be Gnome 2 and Metacity.

Most used apps are Midori, Opera, Abiword, Gparted, Brasero, Claws Mail/Sylpheed, Avidemux and GIMP. And MC for LXterminal stuff.

My main computer use is learning about OSs, Email, web browsing, typing letters, image editing and CD burning.

Well, when working on Linux, it s usually KDE but as "hungry" of system resources as it is I am glad I found LXDE, which is a lot smaller and faster and looks almost as good! ;)
As some kind of "last relict" from the windows era I prefer to have a menu style manager and both KDE and LXDE provide exactly what I want, combined with some nice tools to administrate network and package installation I am pretty happy now on GhostBSD.

My favorite DE is Openbox, but I find mate on GhostBSD is ideal for me as its easier as I am very new to BSD.

Linux - Cinnamon
BSD - MATE
Gnome is no longer acceptable and within that I use Linux distribution, Cinnamon was the first choice. In GhostBSD there is no Cinnamon but the next I would use is MATE and so I have done and chosen it for GhostBSD.

Mac OSX 10.6.8 (this one pays the bills, Mac user since 1986)
Slackware 14.1 - framebuffer + tmux or Xfce (either no X session or Xfce; not a fan of Gnome, KDE, or MATE)
OpenBSD 5.4 - Xfce (I do like Xfce for a full-featured DE)
GhostBSD 3.5 - LXDE (Also like LXDE for a lighweight DE, also like just Openbox as WM)
Linux Mint 16 - Cinnamon (simply beautiful and functional, especially since 2.0)

Mostly LXDE in Linux.

I'm not a big Gnome fan but Mate works great in GhostBSD. I have no complaints with it.
