Where to start learing GhostBSD

Post by Zeid Mahmoud »

I just set my OS to "GhostBSD," and the first thing I fixed was the sound, and I'm happy for that, but I want to start learning deep into the BSD.
Any recommendations on where to start? that will be helpful.
thank you

The FreeBSD handbook is a good place. You can also ask questions on the GhostBSD telegram channel

Using GhostBSD, googling for answers with "freebsd xyz" where xyz is the topic name you are interested in , and reading FreeBSD documentation. Are you familiar with the Linux commands? Guru99com https://www.youtube.com/@guru99com Youtube channel is good for the basic commands.

Zeid Mahmoud, I am willing to answer further questions you might have for me.
How is the https://www.Guru99.xom Tutorials working out for you? When you connect to the network, do you use ethernet wired cable or Wifi?

I'll add to hang out in the Telegram chat to see what questions others are asking. Depending how deep you want to go you could try to reading The Design and Implementation of the FreeBSD Operating System but it's very dense and may not be the best place to start. I got a couple chapters in, and it helped me understand why somethings are the way they are, but I got stuck and haven't made progress in some time. You could also look through some of the issues and roadmap on GitHub. It may give you direction for topics that you want to learn more about.
