What community should I be using for assistance and support?

The list shown on https://www.ghostbsd.org/ is apparently outdated.

Reddit appears dead. Matrix and Telegram don't work from a laptop and
IRC does not seem to work.

I really like GhostBSD but what is the proper place for support?

Reddit is not dead. It is not the primary communication. Telegram and Matrix are the communication tools in use. For Telegram on ghostbsd, you will need to install telegram-desktop, and for Matrix, I use nheko. The IRC link will not work if you do not have an IRC client in your system.

Oh, there is also the forum here, but it seems like everyone prefers to use Telegram and Matrix.

I added telegram to my laptop but it wants my phone number and to scan qr code which
doe not work on a laptop???

Sorry for my late reply. You need to have an account set up with Telegram and a phone number for that.
