External Drive Format for GhostBSD. ext2?

Want to format external hard drive specifically for GhostBSD system for storage/backup. I have a 250Gb,500Gb and a 1TB sitting around doing nothing. I read out here on the forum that GhostBSD recognizes ext2 format and derivatives of. Is this true? I would like to do that.

It should read it. I have a laptop booting Windows 10, Ubuntu MATE, and GhostBSD. GhostBSD is able to detect and mount the ext4 and NTFS partition.
