Hello, I'm new here and willing to install GhostBSD.
But before proceeding I need to know something, my Wi-Fi chip is Realtek rtl8723be, is it supported in GhostBSD? Is there anyway to make it work?
Is my wifi chip supported?
Re: Is my wifi chip supported?
If it does not start on the livecd, it is most likely not supported.
What ifconfig shows?

Re: Is my wifi chip supported?
I haven't downloaded GhostBSD yet, I thought there would be an up-to-date list of supported chips.
I will download and test now then I will report my findings here. First I will try the development version.

Re: Is my wifi chip supported?
UPDATE: No, after testing the liveCD it seems Realtek rtl8723be wireless chip is not supported in GhostBSD latest build.
There should be a list of supported chips available though, both OpenBSD and FreeBSD folks are maintaining such list, GhostBSD should have that too.

Re: Is my wifi chip supported?
My wifi card also doesn't work. Unfortunately. I wanted to try out BSD because it seems faster and better than linux but with the wifi not working I don't know what to do as I don't have a Ethernet cable for my laptop. Would a generic USB wifi thing work?
Re: Is my wifi chip supported?
Here is a list of supported USB wifi adaptors taken from the FreeBSD documentation
https://www.freebsd.org/releases/13.0R/hardware/#wlan
Ctrl+F to search for "usb" then start looking for the next occurrence down until you reach the end of that list, if you already own a USB wifi adapter you should go ahead and test it even if it's not listed, if you don't, then pick one from the list and buy it.
If you're only missing an ethernet cable then why not get it from any computer store? I'm pretty sure it's dirt cheap, you should know the required length before going to the store though.
As I said, the above link is part of the FreeBSD documentation, I'm building upon the assumption that GhostBSD is the same as FreeBSD only with Mate Desktop pre-installed and a nice graphical installer.
