Xterm background images?

Post by RJPugh »

Hello. This is probably a silly issue, but...

Do either of the included terminal programs (Mate and XFCE4) support background images? I used to be able to do this is urxvt, but it's not working. I probably have to do some tinkering. But before I do that, I thought I would ask if the other programs have this ability. OR, if there is another option out there that I can try.

Again this is probably a silly issue, but I always found background images in terminals to be rather fun.

Thanks.

I can't say for XFCE, but MATE Terminal on the top menu click Edit > Profile preference, then click on the background tab or right-click, Profile > Profile preference, then click on the background tab.

Thank you. That will suit my needs.

For those who may be curious, a profile can be made for each specialized terminal you set up. A command like this:

Mate-terminal --profile=[profile name]

...can be put into a launcher shortcut. As a test I loaded three different terminal windows at the same time, each with a different profile.
