I'd like to install Ghostbsd on my laptop, but when I boot from usb I get a kernel panic with:
...without device atpic requires a local APIC..

can you help me?

If I boot from FreeBSD 11 usb it works

Please help!

The only difference between a FreeBSD image and a GhostBSD image (booting related) is that GhostBSD live media is using grub bootloader instead of freebsd loader, that is what allow us to deploy hybrid images.

But then the kernel is exactly the same ... and it seems you get the error when loading the kernel.

Is that an install on real hardware or in virtual machine ?

I'm really at loss at what the cause of the error could be, as I wrote before we are using exactly the same kernel.

You can install install FreeBSD (as that appear to work), and later change the default repository and turn it into a ghostbsd install, it will be somewhat longer but should work.

[SOLVED]

Use the Legacy BIOS entry to boot the USB Flash drive and NOT the UEFI BIOS entry

GhostBSD 11.1 uses GRUB2 to boot up with?? check on that
ACPI BIOS Error (bug): A valid RSDP was not found (20170303/tbxfroot-369)
panic: running without device atpic requires a local APIC
cpuid = 0
