System Memory Requirements

Post by tacit0ne » Wed Mar 13, 2013 12:23 pm

I have an old laptop with 256MB of RAM. To be cautious, I'll start with Openbox.

Does anyone have the startup memory stats for Gnome / LXDE / Openbox handy?

I run Openbox Gnome2 and LXDE on P3 with 512 of ram I have never seen Gnome going more then 256. The only problem might be Firefox.

cool!

so 1GB without swap and plenty of hardrive space should do it with GhostBSD in the near future anyway!?
