USB Stick Intall Problem (UEFI) 24.01.1

Post by deFrisselle »

Tried installing from a UBS stick but there seems to be an issue with UEFI with my laptop
Changing to Legacy BIOS gets it installed
The previous version had no issue with UEFI

Trying to install 24.01.1 BTW

Screenshot of previous install with laptop specs

With UEFI this is what happens

No need to reinstall, Achim. "Does not work" , leaves out information to diagnose the problems.

open a terminal window and use these BSD commands
camcontrol devlist
geom dev list
gpart status
gpart show -lp
on the EFI ESP partition, mount it to examine the files.
su -
mkdir -p /mnt/esp
mount -t msdosfs /dev/ada0p1 /mnt/esp
ls -lh /mnt/esp
tree /mnt/esp

* dont have command tree?
pkg install tree

Are you using ZFS or UFS?

ZFS I assume
However, the Install ISO is set up

USB stick only boots fully to the desktop when the laptop is set to Legacy BIOS mode
When set to UEFI mode I get the bottom image in my original post

I was running 13.2-Stable on this Lenovo ideaPad 300
Which was a UEFI install
