Problem with package manager

Post by lotech »

I've been on and off using GhostBSD for couple years, I install and reinstall so many times over the years for one single reason, the software station is extremely sluggish to use, it halt for half minute for every 2 letters I type !!! Since I am not familiar with the command syntax I need a package manger with GUI, so that I installed OCTPKG instead and it worked much better, but for unknown reason it vanished from the system after I reinstalled it this time, I tried to install again via terminal but can't find such thing, I also search on the internet but can't find it too, I must be crazy or someone removed it from the internet as well as from my PC !!!

Yep - not a great user experience...
My workaround for Software Station is to firstly type my search term in Pluma, copy, then paste into the search box and press return.
To change the search term I copy the new term from Pluma, double-select the old search box term and paste-over the old term and press return.
:-)
