hi,
i downloaded Ghost BSD 4.0 .img file and tried to install from USB stick
once the system loaded into Live desktop my Logitech PS2 mouse and keyboard were not working/not detected  (both are working fine in other Linux dist's)
i had a spare USB mouse which i was able to connect successfully
i was unable to proceed with installation as i do not have any USB keyboard handy
is there any way i could start installation with PS2 devices?
does this image file has support for PS2 devices, apart from KBD and mouse everything worked out of box.
kindly need your help.

i'm able to enter numbers from 1 to 5 and select various boot options
when it boots into desktop mouse and kbd both are not responding

I'm having a similar issue. Live disk boots OK. USB keyboard is recognized but PS2 mouse is frozen dead center. Is there any way to get the mouse working? Thanks.

If you are able to do Ctrl+Alt+F2 login as root put in /etc/rc.conf using nano, ee or vi moused_enable="YES".

That was easy. Have done similar things on Debian many times. But then I couldn't figure out how to login again as user. ctrl + alt + F9 got me to a graphical Desktop but then there was no mouse cursor at all. When I got back to a working system, I searched online as well as the FreeBSD Handbook but could only find instructions for logging in as root. This forum wouldn't list any results for words that were too common. I feel like a complete idiot starting from scratch. ### systemd . . .

Word censoring, really??

the live system has no root password and to start back moused type

Code: Select all

service moused restart
. sorry I forgot to mention that.
you can all got Ctrl+Atl+F1 and do CTRL+C and type gdm .

I will add this configuration for the next release.

I added the line to /etc/rc.conf, saved, exited nano and then:

Code: Select all

service moused restart
Which threw up this:

Code: Select all

moused not running? Check /var/run/moused.pid
Starting default mousedmoused: unable to open /dev/psm0. No such file or directory.

This got me back to the Desktop but still no cursor. (: Never had so much trouble with a live disk . . . (yes, I checked the md5sum.)

I'm willing to give it one more try if you have any more suggestions.

No other suggestions? Too bad. What I could see of Ghost looked nice. Guess I'll move on to Virtual Box and PC-BSD . . .
