Hi
Long time Linux user of over 10 years. I thought it might be fun to install a form of bsd to see the differences. I downloaded the Ghost 18.12 image, checked the md5sum and used dd to write to a usb stick I use for install according to this site. I keep getting read errors. Sadly this pc does not have a cdrom that works.
Attached is a poor snapshot of the screen.
I have googled this to no satisfaction.
Freebsd boots fine and installs, but getting to a desktop is as hard as installing Arch Linux (which I have done but it isnt newbie friendly in the least). I would love to have a MATE desktop right out the gate.
TrueOS does boot but I can only find the server addition which is as fun as Freebsd.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Read errors when installing from usb
Re: Read errors when installing from usb
I am having the same issue on one of my desktops, I did not found a solution yet. It might be caused by some FreeBSD and TrueOS beta code. If finally find a solution I will release a new iso.
