The card wireless PCI BCM4313 is not compatible with Ghost?

Post by ernbsd »

Hello community of GhostBSD, I am new here and with many eager to learn.

The card wireless PCI Broadcom BCM4313 is not compatible with the derived systems of BSD, and I'm trying to supplement with an alternative. That card wireless PCI which can be compatible with BCM4313 Broadcom? Previously I did purchase in the store a device-driver USB wireless TP-LINK model No. TL-WN823N and it seems that is not compatible with GhostBSD, some help please?

# uname -a

Code: Select all

FreeBSD xxx.freebsd-pc.home 11.0-RELEASE-p12 FreeBSD 11.0-RELEASE-p12 #0: Wed Aug  9 10:03:39 UTC 2017     root@amd64-builder.daemonology.net:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC  amd64
I put the /boot/loader.conf file and does not give a result, it does not show the device of UBS wireless:

# ee /boot/loader.conf
wlan_wep_load="YES"
wlan_ccmp_load="YES"
wlan_tkip_load="YES"
if_urtwn_load="YES"
urtwn-rtl8192cfwU_load="YES"
legal.realtek.license_ack=1

snd_hda_load="YES"
snd_driver_load="YES"
Then reboot the system and gave problems in the beginning, I checked with the command and gave no result.

# dmesg | grep urtwn

Re: The card wireless PCI BCM4313 is not compatible with Gho

Post by NevilleGoddard »

The TP-LINK device should work.

Are you using grub or the FreeBSD bootloader?

If you're using grub to boot, your boot/loader.conf edits may not work. Try editing /etc/rc.conf instead.

This is my kld_list section:

# Load the following kernel modules
kld_list="snd_envy24ht nvidia-modeset geom_mirror geom_journal geom_eli linux fuse ext2fs cuse"

Make yours look something like this:

# Load the following kernel modules
kld_list=" wlan_wep wlan_ccmp wlan_tkip if_urtwn urtwn-rtl8192cfwU legal.realtek.license_ack=1 geom_mirror geom_journal geom_eli linux fuse ext2fs cuse"

If you are using the FreeBSD loader, give the whole output of /boot/loader.conf because I noticed you have the sound drivers in loader.conf but the kernel modules are not in kldstat.
