The system is not seeing GhostBSD on the flash drive, that's why it won't boot.

Tip: write it to a flash drive with no other systems on it.
That way I don't think you will have any problems booting GBSD.

When the screen shows "Waiting for GhostBSD media to initialize", how long do you wait?

Boot from .iso: checksum mismatch

Post by grahamperrin »

Without Ventoy
… visible in the photo …
Text in the photograph includes:

Code: Select all

==> Replicate system image to swap-based memdisk
cannot receive new filesystem stream: checksum mismatch, 16 MB/s
This might be a hardware problem.

Please, did you checksum your copy of GhostBSD-21.04.27.iso? It should have been:

b662bc8d43eb61bc9f377dd1b1bdf42b9ed5401915b42781bc60935ee2bd28ce

With Ventoy

I have not yet tried Ventoy but my feeling, without knowing your hardware, would be to allow longer.

First, though, have a verifiably good .iso file – checksummed.
