VBox additions 6.x

Post by Srdjan »

My first post here, so.. hi to all! :D

I've decided to give GhostBSD a chance, downloaded it and installed
in Virtual Box 6.1.2 (Linux Host). Looks fine, but it appears that additions
package provided in GhostBSD's software manager is 5.x.. so, what is
the correct way to install newer VBox additions?

Other question. If I decide to intsall OS on bare metal,
I have nvidia 450 GTS, and it works with nvidia proprietary 390.xx
series driver on Linux.

Are there any issues here concerning GhostBSD?

Cheers! :)

Oracle does not supported VirtualBox for any BSD.
Try an older version on a Linux host with GhostBSD as a guest..
If you would like to use a newer version please look in the porters handbook https://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO88 ... -handbook/.

I think nvidia is supported. Try with live CD.

One more question, not to opet new thread:

I've booted GhostBSD in live mode on my Lenovo T510 Laptop,
and bluetooth adapter is not recognizes, and system says that
bluetooth service is enabled and running.

Everything else seem to work fine (I have chosen legacy intel boot mode
because it is Optimus laptop with intel integrated and nvidia dedicated which
is supported by 340.xx drivers, not offered in live mode options (just 390.xx ones
that does not work with this card)

nvidia drops working on legacy 340 driver series anyway...

For the driver, you need to install Nvidia driver 340 from software packages once installed.
