Could not create ICE listening socket

Post by dismas »

Hello,
I sometimes ran into a popup stating Could not create ICE listening socket: Cannot establish any listening sockets followed by IceListenForConnections did not return a local listener right after being authenticated.
It seems to be a known issue with Gnome and deleting socket files under /tmp/ICE-unix solve this issue. I added find /tmp/ICE-unix -type s -delete to my custom startup script and it works like a charm.
