When I get to the 'login' window I get a black wallpaper........and the login box, of course, and everything works ok.

On the first 'login' occasion after install, a wallpaper and the login box was displayed
.......subsequent to that only a black background/wallpaper is apparent.

I think a wallpaper should show......can anyone tell me how to initiate a login background?

When I get to 'lightdm-gtk-greeter.conf' I can see that "Tidepool Sunset" is set as the background but it just doesn't show......we only get a black, colourless background....and the login bracket.

What is your graphic card and what driver are you using?

This laptop has an integrated Intel GM965/GL960....very basic...selected vesa on install
