Station Tweak doesn't fetch or apply the settings

I am trying to find a way to add the search bar in the panel drop down menus like xfce whisker/cinnamon type menus, and I figured station tweak is the place to do it, but for some reason, my station tweak application doesn't fetch my current settings, and when I try to make any changes in say the interface menus, and then I press save panel layout, nothing happens. I shouldn't need admin rights to run station tweak, right? Is my install incomplete? I tried to check for updates and everything looks fine so far.

Version 18.12, I haven't used it much so it's still in almost out-of-the-box state.

A couple other setting adjusters were also blanked out like Station Tweak, but I currently don't need them as much. I also tried logging in as root to see if it's an access rights issue, but the problems are still there.

Sorry. Station tweak doesn't work for me either. What do you want to change?

I found out that Mate has recently added a panel layout that gives the start menu a search bar, and I want to see if Ghostbsd has it.

It's weird that Station Tweak doesn't work though. If you look at the main screenshot from Ghostbsd's website, clearly you can see the application is working.

Are you talking about the Brisk menu?
Just right click on the panel and choose add new items and choose brisk menu
