GhostBSD 18.10 & 18.12

Post by demetrioussharpe »

Installation CD cannot start installation program because of X11 failure. Xorg.0.log reports that no devices nor screens are found. This problem is also present on the TrueOS 18.06 installation disk. There's an issue with the nvidia driver. From what I can tell, the drivers included on the installation disk do not have support for Geforce GTX 760 gpus. The system that this is happening on has 2 Geforce GTX 760 gpus running in SLI.

Uhhh, 'Based on FreeBSD'. Do you actually mean 'FreeBSD', or should I read that as 'TrueOS'?

It's based on FreeBSD but still uses the openrc init system and has many extra components. It's quite different in many ways to FreeBSD.. Eric the admin could probably explain it a lot better

I’m glad that it’s been switched back to FreeBSD. I’ve had a lot of problems out of TrueOS & it’s derivatives, every since it became a bleeding edge OS.
