Hi,
I burned a USB drive today, 14th of may 2018 with the last AMD64-mate version of GhostBSD.
I boot correctly my laptop with the USB but finally, when I see the slim prompt with the default user 'ghostbsd' I enter with the keyboard, but I see the error: "Failed to execute login command".
I attach a screenshot.

Can somebody tell me what happens?

Hi. Welcome to GhostBSD.
Can you please give more details on your laptop? Like what graphics card does it use?
I got the same warning message when I didn't configure my graphics card properly.

Hi,
the specification of Thinkpad X250 are in https://goo.gl/wQxHgD, and I see "Intel HD Graphics 5500". But I am using a USB drive on the Laptop and I am not configuring anything.

Do you use a non-US-keyboard?
Do you use a password with special characters?
This was the reason for a similar issue for me.

It is not related to graphics card it is related to Unionfs, which makes .xinitrc not load properly on some hardware.

This is not related with the keyboard (why you said this? ) . When I turn on the computer with the USB pendrive, it shows Slim and, on the username field, there is "ghostbsd" automatically. I just do "Enter" with the Keyboard.

If this is a problem on the file .xinitrc, this problem must be in all the image .img of Ghostbsd, right?

No, it is Unionfs which is the only way for at the moment to have a full live system with read and write. For some reason, some people can boot it no problem and others don't. You can look if .xinitrc is there with ALT+CTRL+F2 and log as ghostbsd no password.

Hi all,

I have this problem with my install USB on my HP 8540w laptop, it appears I cannot save an edited version of the .xinitrc file so cannot get any further than the login page..... any ideas??
