Re: GhostBSD 10.3 repositories ?

But where are the other from? ericbsd is from Canada, 7 hours time difference, you can find him on IRC usually after 22:30 Italy localtime, kraileth is from Merkel-land, a few others from UK (also known as may-exit land) and other from USA (Trumpland) ... some from Brazil ... convbsd is from Romani...

Re: A very little Display Manager and an obstacle

Hi vaisarger, just wanted to give your DM a try on a spare machine. Unfortunately the tarball that you uploaded is messed up: You've somehow managed to include relative paths into it ("/../../../home/vittorio/Programmi/") which prevents tar from extracting it normally. The engrampa archive...

Re: FreeBSD-11.1

Actually I read too fast, this issue is specific to arm64 not amd64  There seem to be issues with 11.x and ZFS, though. I've installed new FreeBSD 11.1 systems on two older servers at work yesterday, and I ran into what seems to be this problem. Strange thing is that the pool eventually is fo...

Re: Standard cross platform encryption program

JimsWorkshop: The Veracrypt port has been committed a few hours ago this morning and since I saw it by accident, I thought that I might as well tell you here. Feel free to portsnap (or otherwise obtain the latest ports tree) and report back here if it works for you. The port lives in security/veracr...

Re: Dell Inspiron 17r 7720 se

Hi Kernelpanic, you could get an image of TrueOS and see if it manages to boot a live system. TrueOS is based on FreeBSD-CURRENT. If it will boot up that means the development version of FreeBSD already support your hardware. In that case GhostBSD will catch up at some point in time. If even TrueOS ...

Re: 11.1 Release and pkg

All things come to an end eventually and so will i386 support. But I'm really torn in that case. On the one hand I tend to say "Let's move on, drop i386 and probably turn towards aarch64 instead". However I agree with ASX here that more and more operating systems are dropping i386 support ...

Re: Standard cross platform encryption program

Hi JimsWorkshop, adding to what ASX said, you might want to ask on the FreeBSD mailing lists in this case. GhostBSD is just consuming most of the ports from FreeBSD and adding what we feel mainline FreeBSD is lacking to provide a great desktop experience. Doing any crypto-related stuff ourselves is ...

Re: ntfs-3g default support

I would appreciate ntfs-3g default support also. Hi JimsWorkshop, as of GhostBSD 10.1 (I don't know about older versions right now), ntfs-3g should be part of the default installation. You can have a look at the manifest to see which packages are installed by default. There you will find fusefs-ntf...

Re: Slogan for shirt

I would always prefer the definite article ("the") over the indefinite one ("a") in this case. This makes for a stronger, less vague statement. Other than that, I like it. However I went a little creative after brainstorming about what could be put on a t-shirt (and not ending up...

Re: Google AdSense

The ads have never annoyed me with GhostBSD, so I don't really care whether they are there or not. But if they actually barely serve any purpose for us - let's get rid of them. If they don't really create as much revenue to make them worthwhile to keep, they are useless, anyway.
