Re: GhostBSD 4.0
Sorry no-one has been in to answer your question. (I have only recently returned to the project.) GhostBSD follows FreeBSD, therefore the suggested upgrade path is to do a complete new installation of the system. Note that you can have your data in a seperate slice (partition) of your hard drive, mo...

Re: General suggestions
I know that I am on an old thread, but I think the info is still relevant, & it has a good title for what I am going to discuss. Having sampled the 'rival' PC-BSD, I think the idea of having an alternative lightweight desktop option from the installer is a good Idea. I know there was a recent de...

Re: GhostBSD 4.0 BETA1
Network Manager comes up, but says there are no networks found.
Not sure if my wifi card driver is in the GhostBSD kernel. It works OK with my FreeBSD install, it was configured as part of the installation.

Re: GhostBSD 4.0 BETA1
Will have to get back to you on that one. The laptop that I was using has now got FreeBSD 10.0 (with Fluxbox) on it. :) I shall dd 4.0BETA1 to pendrive again & try running it live on there to get the results from ifconfig. I'm afraid this machine I'm on at the moment is running one of the compet...

Re: GhostBSD vs. PC-BSD
UPDATE. PC-BSD 10 now uses FreeBSD 10.0 pkgng package manager as default, so they say, so now you can have a system without using PBI's. I know this because I have just installed a FreeBSD system & two PC-BSD systems. However, if you use AppCafe on PC-BSD, you are loading a PBI not using pkgng. ...

There is documentation.....
Hello all, GhostBSD doesn't have any specific documentation at the present time because it is mainly FreeBSD, which is very well documented on their website. https://www.freebsd.org/doc/handbook/ If we have something that is not FreeBSD, we will try and create documentation for it and put it in here...
