Re: GhostBSD4.0-RC1

Having installed it to my HP-G62 laptop, renewed the pkg database, (pkg update -f), I have been through the menus and found the following:- 1) Menu > Accessories > SpiderOak & Menu > Internet > SpiderOak - does nothing, there is no manpage & nothing happens if tried from a terminal. 2) Menu ...

Re: GhostBSD 4.0 does not detect PC devices.

Perhaps try from a terminal, as the root operator :-

Code: Select all

Re: Version 4 RC1 Installing Software Issues

Thanks Eric, that did it for me too.
Pysolfc now installed and set up how I like it, ready for me to waste more time playing Shisen Sho. :D
Will now investigate the programs on the menus, & let you know if I find anything else.

That sounds like the problem that I was having. It turned out to be the system having a problem with one of my USB sockets.

Try installing using a different USB socket.

Re: Version 4 RC1 Installing Software Issues

Have you run

Code: Select all

sudo pkg update
Edit: No, sorry, that isn't the problem, just run it myself, along with pkg2ng just in case.

Edit2: I have just PM'ed Eric about this, so hopefully it will be dealt with soon.

Re: My 2 Cents on GhostBSD after a couple of Weeks

Good to hear you are enjoying yourself, fmh, I hope you stick around. I believe there will be a GUI front end for installing packages, but the main push has been to get back to a single desktop (Mate) & getting it all setup properly. Eric has done wonders with integrating this new installer into...

Re: GhostBSD4.0-RC1

Posting from 64 bit .img live, on my HP G62 laptop, looking good & very promising. :)
N.B. Not keen on the startup sound, it goes on for a bit too long. ;)
Will now see what happens if I try to install it. :P
