Re: My 2 Cents on GhostBSD after a couple of Weeks
Personally, XFCE would be the better choice, not just because I prefer it, but also because the man behind it is, I believe, French, so if you had any problems, you could most likely communicate in your own language.

Re: Ghostbsd is Really Good, Forum Search, bxpkg deprecated?
I use PC-BSD as one of my OS'es and quite agree about zfs; it is too complicated for a normal user system. I too do not like having services started 'straight out of the box', this creates vulnerabilities, if not very careful. One thing they have is a choice of WM or DE on installation, this I think...

Re: GhostBSD4.0-RC2
I tried changing the driver in xorg.conf from vesa to intel. Rebooting leaves me at a text prompt, does not start the GUI login screen! When I login and run startx, it will not start. So, I change the driver back to vesa & reboot - I get the GUI login screen, but my keyboard layout h...

Re: GhostBSD4.0-RC2
Because RC1 crashed & corrupted my filesystem yesterday , I am installing the latest RC2 (64 bit .img) to my HP-G62 laptop.
Wrong resolution set - both live & installed - retrograde step, was working properly under RC1.

Re: GhostBSD4.0-RC1
My HP G62 with RC1 crashed loading up Firefox yesterday, now it will not re start, something to do with a 'bad_filesystem'. I have used 'single user mode' fsck to check and repair the filesystem, but it does not restart, keeps crashing with a kernel problem when trying to load up. (This laptop uses ...

Re: Ghostbsd is Really Good, Forum Search, bxpkg deprecated?
I think/agree that ghostBSD should stay as close to FreeBSD as possible whilst making it easy for a newcomer to try it 'live' and then install it.

Re: GhostBSD4.0-RC2
Installed 64 bit .img to my Acer Aspire One 722, (which had PC-BSD10 running on it with sound), no sound(?). Screenshot still saves to the Desktop only. Spideroak not working from the menu. Exaile still dumps python2.7.core if closed with the window button. (No DVD drive on this machine, but xfburn ...

Re: GhostBSD4.0-RC2
Decided to have a go with RC2 running live this afternoon. Downloaded & wrote 64 bit .iso to DVD - did not boot up on my laptop, (Advent 9112). Next, amd64 .img :- Everything seems to be working except :- SpiderOak - would not open from the menu - when trying to run from a terminal, libXext.so.6...
