Re: Windows 10 & GhostBSD

Hi Neville, ASX As I live in a democratic country and as an adult with free will I have the right to choose MY favourite system and if the seller cancls my warranty it s my personal risk but HIS lost customer. 8-) And updated status here: bit tricky with MS, so I bought my own Win10 Home ed. tog. wi...

Re: Suspend/resume

Hi, Achim. 1gb of ram is fine for FreeBSD, even with ZFS supposedly. I don't know how heavy MATE is but with lightweight Xfce you should be OK. Yes mate. That s my opinion as well. Always use XFCE therefor. On openSuSe as well. Only heavy video usage brings system in stress but that s clear... ;) B...

Re: Suspend/resume

Hi there No big deal for excuse Neville, not every hardware gets along with every software. The most 'natural' thing in the world. :D But I found out, my aging netbook harddrive isn t much relyable anymore, therefor could be the cause for the reboots, although there wasn t any since sept. 26th updat...

Re: Suspend/resume

Suspend and resume work on some hardware and some it does not work! On my ThinkPad T530 it does work fine, but on my ThinkPad X1Carbon 3 Gen it does not work. So we should monitor this and see for more occasions when it exactly happens? Since last upd from 26th I hadn t any strange behaviour. Best ...

Re: Suspend/resume

well, I d agree with You if it EVER happend with Windows 7 (starter) or Debian or Linux Mint 17 before. I always had a dual-boot on this netbook and this behaviour never happend there?! but maybe 1GB RAM IS insufficient for Ghost/FreeBSD 11.1? btw: had two memory checks via Debian based rescue CD be...

Re: Suspend/resume

well, the only error message I found, was an "dropping of unresponsive client" in connection with 'devd' when shutdown is done... but no real hint for a new login when desktop is idle? have to wait, if it happens again to get a precise "time stamp" for this. could only think of t...
