Ghost Keeps Generating Error bwn: failed to switch etc
It's enough to drive a man to linux......fired up GhostBSD this morning to find that.... bwn:failed to switch channel !!!! I have seen this before during the boot process but the process ultimately boots to the desktop..........today, the warning just goes on and on...indefinitely. The only thing I ...

Re: I connect to WiFi, but no internet?
Like you, I am not a Geek either...........I have had a similar result but when I entered the following, I got a connection.... sudo /etc/rc.d/netif restart sudo /etc/rc.d/routing restart dhclient wlan0 or 1, whatever yours is ....the icon shows and Internet/wifi is OK but tends to be a bit flaky......

Re: How do I set up WIFI to start automatically
Thanks ....Fred, I have already read thru what you have set out..........I do have have a result but it is pretty messy. I have wifi but it needs manual input to get it up.....and then it is not inclined to stay if it goes into sleep mode.
I guess having two wifi devices may be a problem.....dunno?

Re: How do I set up WIFI to start automatically
Wlan0 is bcm4312 (802.11b/g LP-PHY) which has been difficult to set up in BSD................but my initial 'boot-up' of a 'live' usb installer dongle on a desktop without a wired connection showed that wifi was working with the Edimax dongle fitted and all I had to do was put in a password! Things ...

Re: Firefox crashes on GhostBSD 18.10
I get Firefox 'failing to respond' in 18.12 but I am also having problems with WIFI so it may be that rather than the browser.

How do I set up WIFI to start automatically[Solved]
I have wifi working on my GhostBSD install.......I am using an Edimax USB adaptor which I thought would be easier than trying to get myBCM4312 going. The problem is that I have to start it manually in a terminal via two commands "/etc/rc.d/netif restart" and "/etc/rc.d/routing restart...

Re: Need Help Getting Live USB working/booting?
Catching up on old business............ I couldn't get 18.10 to boot on my laptop tho it would boot on other machines. The introduction of 18.12 allowed me to successfully use 'parted /dev/sdx disk_set pmbr_boot on' which allowed me to boot and install from my USB ..........I was tipped to this step...
