Don't you ever sleep? :)
Sleeping make me feel like a "rechargeable battery" and we all know batteries allow for a limited amount of discharge/recharge cycles

Re: how to get kernel source (ie which ver to get?)

Your image is this one I think: ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/releases/i386/11.1-RELEASE/src.txz Yes, that is the src tarball, however keep in mind two things: 1) you should spend some amount of time learning about GhostBSD/FreeBSD before to adventure into software building, FreeBSD/GhostBSD ar...

Re: i386 / 32 bit GhostBSD

Unfortunately mostly this is due to the apparent lack of commitment about maintaining a 32bit distro. This is a shame I agree with you, it is a shame to waste a large amount of delevelopment time and resources to support an ancient and outdated arch. . as there is nothing wrong with the hardware ( ...

Re: i386 / 32 bit GhostBSD

Hey there, I'm new around here! Yes, we are very aware of that, I don't agree that they are considering giving up 32-bit support, understanding that the BSD family is compatible with most older 32-bit architecture computers that have less RAM memory and more software. Excuse me, what is the BSD fam...

Re: Help, observations and vulnerabilities of GhostBSD 11.1

I'm one that try to be reasonable, and because of that I was suggesting a "gradual" dismissal of i386 arch, but reading post like yours make me feel very wrong, and make me think about to drop support of i386 immediately!

Re: Upgrade from 10.4 to 11.1 : a couple of things

but... you have a system working, then upgrade and no connectivity... frustrating. I agreee with you and that is why we implemented our repos as "current" and "previous", although that would not cover your issue. The other feature we are thinking about is "boot environments...

Re: Help, observations and vulnerabilities of GhostBSD 11.1

You have to understand one thing first: pre-release ISO are made available for those who are able and want to contribute back their findings about mistkaes, bugs and so on. As any alpha/beta/rc release they are unsupported and that is usually true for every distribution out there, not only GhostBSD....

Re: Upgrade from 10.4 to 11.1 : a couple of things

Jes, thanks, indeed the regdomain should be setup depending on the country. Beside the technical difficults setting the proper regdomain is required to not infringe comms regulations in some country. In Europe however, we should use something like regdomain ETSI, ETSI2 or ETSI3 (see /etc/regdomain.x...

Re: Help, observations and vulnerabilities of GhostBSD 11.1

Please stop trolling! What you are using to troll is a beta release, no one in their sane mind would use alpha or beta software if security is a real concern. But if you want to ridiculize yourself, please go on. The system swallows up a lot of memory , 86.6% of 1 GB, how to proceed to solve the exp...
