Kernel Panic Report
I'm running a fully updated version of Ghost and MATE, FreeBSD 11.1-RELEASE-p11. Today, while listening to internet radio on Clementine and playing a bit of Pysol solitaire, my system froze up with a loud tone coming out of the speakers. I forced a hardware reboot, which it did without the opening m...

Re: CUPS error-Workaround
In frustration and receiving no responses on this issue, I reinstalled Ghost 11.1, but went back to MATE. After the install, I installed all the updates generated by Octopkg, but still had the CUPS error. Then, Update Station popped up with a notification for an update labelled "11.1 Release p6...

CUPS error-Fixed by Going from XFCE to MATE
I decided to look at XFCE on Ghost, and reinstalled with that desktop. However, I cannot get CUPS to work. I installed my HP 2420DN LAN printer using the Gutenprint driver as before, but it will not print a test page. The dialog box for "Printers" no longer shows the printer that I install...

Customizing Attempt
Although I'm running MATE on another drive, just for grins I installed the XFCE version of GBD, and I'm trying to do a bit of customizing. I know how to change the slim bootup image, and in MATE that image remains as the desktop appears. In XFCE, it does not; the slim login background disappears onc...

pf is not included with the stock install, look at fwbuilder in octopackage.

MATE Stock Quote Applet Won't
"The server could not be contacted. The computer is either offline or the servers are down. Try again later". I've been getting this message for two months now. The problem seems related to MATE 1.18, since the older version worked. Is there a way for me to fix this? Thanks in advance.

Re: Can't Exaile after Update
eric: I just booted the system again (I had in fact rebooted after my update), and now everything is working fine. This smells to me like a HD problem, so I will get a new one and try again.
Thanks for responding!

Can't Exaile after Update
I just installed a big update for 10.3, and now Exaile won't open. Has anyone else seen this behaviour? Audacious works, so it's not hardware.

Re: Newbie Fouled Up System with 10.4 Upgrade
ASX: I really appreciate your patience with me on this situation. I ran zpool scrup tank through to its conclusion, but it found no errors. I found this entry on a search: http://www.freebsdonline.com/content/view/662/528/ "If you get on FreeBSD the following error: pam_chauthtok(): error in se...

Re: Newbie Fouled Up System with 10.4 Upgrade
ASX: I ran zpool scrub tank which went quickly, but did not fix anything. I still got the same error message for passwd, and although the boot process runs perfectly normally through the nVidia load screen and into slim, I still get a black screen after logging in either as root or username. When I ...
