Re: Installation Failed for Both v3.1 Gnome and v3.1 Lxde

Hi Steve, there has been some troubles with the installer only wanting to take over a disk. I did manage to get it installed to its own slice of my disk, but it wasn't intuative. I had to create the slice & then go back to the previous menu, change to the middle item, & then go forward again...

Using Package Manager - MD5 failures

Running Package Manager to instal some extra programs, I get a lot of 'MD5 digest comparison failed' notifications.
(38 when installing mplayer2).

My experience of the GUI setup programs was not working so I used the FreeBSD manual page for my wifi setup. (This is not a criticism, this is to help fellow users get up & running; it should also work for you.) http://www.freebsd.org/doc/handbook/network-wireless.html As the root operator alter...

Re: GhostBSD vs. PC-BSD

PC-BSD packages contain, or used to when I looked at it, all the necessary libraries for the package in question, therefore if you install packages that rely on the same libraries, you get multiple instances of them, making the system inefficient in my eyes. Most BSD use shared libraries, just like ...

Re: install to sd card

As you have an old laptop, it may not be able to use SDHC cards, it may only be able to see SD cards, which I think only went upto 2Gb. However, if you are still interested in trying to mount an SD(HC) card, it would likely be :- mount -t msdos /dev/da0s1 /mnt Some systems use da0s1 others da0p1, so...

Sorry, but jabirOS is not GhostBSD, suggest you ask them, or VirtualBox.
