Re: More bug fixes to OpenSSL today

Ditch OpenSSL, GhostBSD deserves LibreSSL.

The first release of LibreSSL portable has been released.

http://ftp.openbsd.org/pub/OpenBSD/LibreSSL has it, and other mirrors
will soon.

libressl-2.0.0.tar.gz has been tested to build on FreeBSD.

Re: Ghostbsd is Really Good, Forum Search, bxpkg deprecated?

Hi, ..., my suggestion seems misunderstood. What I am suggesting is not out of keeping with BSD principles. Pkgsrc is utilized by NetBSD, how does that deviate from BSD? Among the biggest drawbacks in operating systems, today, are the lack of software available. Ways to increase the variety of packa...

For the repositorty, it would be nice to resume work with music making software:

WineXS and Winefix for default

 I think it would be good to have these inclusions for the default installation. Both are strongly recommended! Staying locked in a non-GUI server based BSD unix sounds safe, but not suitable for a graphical intensive world we gravitate towards to, today. I hope GhostBSD will take things be...

Re: What media player you would like to see in GhostBSD 4.0

VLC is popular because the majority is unaware of all the software that is out there.
Popularity doesn't breed excellence. Chosing special software is a special job.

Re: What media player you would like to see in GhostBSD 4.0

Hi, Eric, These are unique and underated multimedia players, both based on Mplayer. If you were to embark on your own project, among these would be a good start. A unix version of XULPlayer or a GTk version of Umplayer. Umplayer's downside is that it is Qt based. Gtk looks more mature and profession...

Re: My 2 Cents on GhostBSD after a couple of Weeks

I agree wth the part that states "Eric has done wonders." However, I think that it would have been much more interesting to have customized Xfce to look like Mate. Voyager Linux did a fine job of exploring Xfce's potential. Not dissimilar to how the Purity edition consolidated those clutte...

Re: Ghostbsd is Really Good, Forum Search, bxpkg deprecated?

Hi, ..., pkgng, is a fine choice. However, not to deter you from your path, I think pkgsrc ought to be a permanent back end, too, since it's, already, maintained. That's if it's possible to incorporate, both, pkgng and pkgsrc. What I had in mind was that one of the package managers, from the project...

pBurn as default CD burning app.

Let's face it, Brasero doesn't work. It claps out when asked to create an iso image.
GhostBSD deserves a better user experience.
