thanks for the reports and its a common problem under VMware, 4.0 might be better for wmware.

The base system have CLI tools to do that, but I am not aware of a GUI tools ported for that.

Yes that is true, but to troubleshoot the system I need the log from the actual system having trouble.

Yes, since all the active people in here and on IRC seem to like Mplayer more then VLC, I will go for Gnome-Mplayer.
