Re: Firefox has recently started crashing.
Did you start it via terminal so that you can see the error messages there? Might be helpful.

Re: Fresh GhostBSD 21.01.20 installation fails on re-boot
I would try to grab gparted or ubuntu (contains it as well) and just delete all partitions. Do not create new ones here! After that try fresh install with GhostBSD on blank hard disk or ssd. In BIOS I would check for UEFI, turn off secure boot, check what drive or partition is the first boot drive, ...

Re: Fresh GhostBSD 21.01.20 installation fails on re-boot
Hello. What happens if you go to boot menu (F12) and select the correct Disk? What OS was installed before? Did you also try to delete all partitions with gparted before installing GhostBSD? I would also strongly recomend to check the Boot Settings in Bios precisely. Had many faults just because of ...

Encrypt Installation or /home/user
Hello,
I want to migrate a laptop of a friend from ubuntu to GhostBSD. But it is important for him to encrypt his data, so I want to encrypt while install or later when creating new user.
How to do that easy way (if possible) and which encryption is best to recommend on GhostBSD?

Re: Installing Linux Packages
What Linux Apps do you want to run?
I prefer GhostBSD as daily driver over linux, but I wonder if it may be suitable for very new beginners as little knowledge about bsd is useful except you just want to run your apps and surf the web.

Savely remove external USB Drive
Usually it should be safe to remove it after unmounting it. But if you want to spin down (power off) the drive like it happens under macOS or Windows you have to do following AFTER unmounting it (or exporting the zpool) # usbconfig list There he shows you some entries, my usb drive is usually the la...

Re: Newest GhostBSD Release
Update: after I REINSTALLED automount, it works now! (is same version as before, I checked. It deleted the ghostbsd-utils douring removing automount and did not reinstall it when installing automount again) So fuse is working again! It even does now unmount drives cleaner as they completly disappear...
