"freebsd-update upgrade" and GhostBSD

Hi! Sorry if this question is obvious, but for me is still unclear... My freebsd-version is: 10.2-RELEASE-p25. I'm considering to upgrade to 10.3 through "freebsd-update upgrade" command. My doubt/question: what does that command exactly upgrade, only related to GhostBSD? Does it upgrade my G...

Re: Is GhostBSD a sort of "rolling release"?

I tried your tip ("pkg install -f cups"), but pkg-ng answered me that it had to remove first a lot of packages (gdm too) and then upgrade some other packages... brrrr... scary!............ However, I fixed the issue. 8-) First, I upgraded pkg-ng , packages databases, and so forth... then, I ...

Re: A way to change QT fonts

I did, Eric... but no way, octopkg keeps on having font size too small.

So far, best way to increase it is way I showed before (using Xephyr)...

Re: Is GhostBSD a sort of "rolling release"?

Hi Eric! At last, I tried upgrading to 10.2-RELEASE following your reply. Upgrade was rather well, but some "file not found" alerts when I launched " freebsd-update install" . Then, I launched "freebsd-update upgrade -r 10.2-RELEASE". I tried to merge some conf file the best I could, and 99% of syst...

Re: A way to change QT fonts

Hi tankist02!
Sorry for late reply.

I tried that command, but even if I changed font size in it, octopkg still remained with its same size... :(

Re: A way to change QT fonts

Ok, I found a solution (or at least a workaround...) :D #!/usr/bin/env bash # source easybashgui # /usr/local/bin/Xephyr -ac -dpi 133 -screen 1024x768 -br -reset -terminate -resizeable :2 & # sleep 1 export DISPLAY=:2.0 # #/usr/local/bin/fluxbox & sleep 1 wait_seconds -w 1024 -h 768 "5" & /usr/local...

Re: Is GhostBSD a sort of "rolling release"?

Thank you for answer! Unfortunately, committments avoid us to have a good "conversation" in (almost) "real time"... anyway... At moment I don't have a flat Internet connection so I am not able to playing with various OS versions, so I will try this major version upgrade later. ............. In meanw...

Re: Is GhostBSD a sort of "rolling release"?

Thank you for reply! :D

I would like to keep on using this nice OS, and I need to ask you the last question...

For next major release, until plan you said will be actual, do we need a DVD-ROM to upgrade system manually?

And how to do it?

Thanks

Is GhostBSD a sort of "rolling release"?

Hi! I apologize in advance for question, but I am a beginner in *BSD. I tried the "upgrade package" feature in Octopkg and the system update through "Update station" tray icon (I believe that is the name) : both worked really ok! Then, I asked myself "what about" major version change? Is GhostBSD/Fr...

A way to change QT fonts

Hi! Here I am again on GhostBSD! I like it very much and congratulations for very nice work! :D I use MATE desktop. I would suggest to add to system a way to change font size for QT apps (like Octopkg), because QT libs are different from GTK and so normal font size changes don't affect QT apps (f.i....
