Did you check your RAM with Memtest? Your usb drives were of same type/manufacturer? What about SecureBoot/UEFI options?

Aktually an update breaks the system as many applications cause the whole desktop to freeze. You can still press Alt+Ctrl+Del and Enter to shutdown ghostbsd but the system is quite unusuable with this issue. I managed out to disable it by simple way!! :D

changed the ada0p2 to ada0p1 but it did not work for me. Possible that MATE does not use HAL?
