Re: Problem with running the newest ghostbsd from pendrive

My suggestion is to not use Ventoy when installing GhostBSD. Here are my recommended steps: (1) Clear the partitions and data from your pendrive. (2) Use the dd command to install the GhostBSD ISO to the pendrive. (3) Restart your computer and enter BIOS. (4) Select the option to boot the pendrive a...

Remember, with a soft-rolling BSD distribution, using the latest available ISO is important. That said, the simplest and perhaps quickest solution is to spend money for a 4GiB USB flash drive (pendrive). Installing the latest available GhostBSD ISO file to a dedicated USB flash drive for GhostBSD wi...

Re: multiboot

GhostBSD expects to be the only operating system on a bare metal system. GhostBSD practices the keep it simple philosophy. While rEFInd is available for end users to install, it is really up to the end user to know how to use it correctly. https://www.rodsbooks.com/refind/ is a good resource for tho...

Re: Uninstalling GhostBSD

Guy Grinnell pointed out on t.me/ghostbsd that wipefs does not appear to be ZFS aware.Submitting a bug report might another means to solve the issue. Re: hey - new here and have a few intro questions for neophytes

Support for laptops has been improving over time. If you want to try XFCE on GhostBSD, then I'd suggesting trying a development iso:

OpenRC versioning and alignment.

From what I can see, OpenRC's latest version is 0.42.1. However, GhostBSD's OpenRC code does not align closely with OpenRC 0.42.1. TrueOS' OpenRC appears to have been a fork that never merged with OpenRC's (github.com/openrc/openrc) main (i.e. master) branch. I am hoping to correct this over the com...

Material Shell

The Material Shell provides a nice workflow. https://github.com/material-shell/material-shell

I like it better than KDE. :)
