Re: Xterm background images?
Thank you. That will suit my needs. For those who may be curious, a profile can be made for each specialized terminal you set up. A command like this: Mate-terminal --profile=[profile name] ...can be put into a launcher shortcut. As a test I loaded three different terminal windows at the same time, ...

Xterm background images?
Hello. This is probably a silly issue, but... Do either of the included terminal programs (Mate and XFCE4) support background images? I used to be able to do this is urxvt, but it's not working. I probably have to do some tinkering. But before I do that, I thought I would ask if the other programs h...

Problem with the system clock
My system apparently can't tell time. Whenever I boot up in BSD, the clock is five hours off. I can correct this using the date command (as root), but it still thinks I'm in the HST time zone, when I'm in EST. Also, when using mate-time-admin (also as root), I'm unable to change anything, and the NT...

Re: Change login screen for X?
Update: I installed XFCE and CDE. XFCE comes up as an option in LightDM. But CDE and Window Maker do not. I've found tips on how to add the desktop manager style environments to LightDM, but not much on the very old school x-window managers like Window Maker. I don't know where CDE falls in that spe...

Re: Change login screen for X?
I installed Window Maker, but nothing changed. I'll have to see if there is a .desktop file for it.

Re: Change login screen for X?
I'm guessing I want to look at the greeter settings. Currently the login screen doesn't give me any options beyond user name.

Re: Change login screen for X?
Can lightdm be configured to handle multiple X managers? Or other neat tricks for that matter.
I'm not familiar with lightdm; curiosity is knocking.
Thanks!

Change login screen for X?
Good evening. I'm trying to change the X manager in GhostBSD. My system is a brand new install, from earlier this evening. Back when I was using TrueOs, when starting the system I was presented with a login screen that allowed me to select a user, and an X manager (via pull down menu). I think this ...

Good to be back.
My compliments to the developers of GhostBSD's install script. I just installed the system on my Dell system, and it went flawlessly. That can't be said for any other install of FreeBSD or Linux I have performed. Usually it takes two tries for everything to finally work out. But this time it went pe...
